Welcome!

Welcome to the Meck 1 District of the Girl Scouts, Hornets' Nest Council. We are making a difference in the lives of girls in the Lake Norman region of Mecklenburg County. 

We currently serve over 800 registered Girl Scouts from twelve area public schools and several private and home schools.

Our Girl Scout Program Goals guide each girl to:

• Develop to her full potential
• Relate to others
• Develop values
• Contribute to the improvement of society

We would love to have your daughter JOIN THE FUN! Please contact our Membership Specialist for information on how your daughter can be a part of Girl Scouting.

Want to help?

You can join the fun too because we are always looking for volunteers. Girl Scouting is for girls but it exists because of Girl Scout volunteers. You can share your knowledge and experiences with girls in this area. As a Girl Scout volunteer, you can:

• Lead or assist a troop
• Serve on the district team
• Coordinate district events
• Become a mentor for girls or leaders
• Volunteer for short-term or long-term
